It is stories that must, in a predominantly visual culture, reclaim Biblical symbolic frameworks. Through art and film Jonahre stories bring truth to reality through Biblically based symbolic frameworks. Jonahre emphasizes both the medium and the message applying Biblical principals of storytelling to the storytelling mediums of our time. The result is the theologically sound merging with the highest standard of production and artistic talent. The message and the medium are equally important in communicating the Truth.

Based on Jonah as an artistically crafted Biblical book, Jonah is also the first missionary Biblically and so Jonahre stories enters cultures in their own expressions to become many culture’s first encounter with the witness of Biblical truth.

Jonahre Award Winner - Announced

The Jonahre award is a floating trophy created by Ardmore Ceramic Studios artist Petros Gumbi, that will be accompanied by a plague featuring the names of the winning film each year.

The piece will be on display to view in South Africa at various art museums that will be announced.

This piece was created for Jonahre's Arise Art Auction in 2010 to celebrate the storytelling art of Africa that "brings truth to reality through ART."
